After meetings with the client and initial research, one of the ideas was to incorporate images of Deloitte employees, "the people of Deloitte." This image and the text from the list of Deloitte's 'cultural values' represent what was envisaged. At the client review it was decided that images of Deloitte staff could present problems in the future if the staff left the company and as a result the final "crystal image" was created free of faces.

Speaking to the Earth: About the Project

Speaking to the Earth was commissioned for the lobby of the global headquarters of Deloitte in New York City. The work is a front-lit RGB laser digital print, 66 x 120 inches.

The artwork freely references patterns of controlled growth and forms a setting for a celebration of global access and international communication. Speaking in the languages of the earth and collaborating with clarity, transparency and openness enables us to cross national boundaries and form partnerships with the world.
